"Lineage of Females" was initiated by a poem my sister wrote, inspired by a photograph taken each year of four generations of our female lineage. In the poem, my great aunt’s perfectly preserved loveseat, on which we posed, envelops our bodies; we became one with this bland furniture, an amorphous feminine monster. “Lineage of Females” explores gendered stereotypes relating to domesticity and also the forming of a single, frightening, intergenerational entity. 2013
